Pua is an Instructor of Hawaiian at the Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language. Pua was born and raised on Niʻihau, making Hawaiian her first language. She works in Kawaihuelaniʻs language lab, the Mānaleo Office, helping students strengthen their fluency in Hawaiian. Because she is a mānaleo, she brings unique perspectives on grammar, vocabulary, and culture that help to strengthen students’ overall language proficiency.
